Language can be the Devil

Gage spoke volumes very early on. It was almost like because of this, I could train him to be so polite. I would repeat the polite phrase that he should say and he would... then it became common place for him. Or, so it goes in my memory.

Leila is the diva at the word 'no' She loves to tell everyone no. It's a game to do the opposite of what she's asked to do. She giggles in delight, runs and hides, and continues to say NO on every opportunity she can. I didn't know a 1-year old could backtalk with such cuteness, but boy oh boy... we didn't read the chapter on this one.

Learning how to say NO to her is an entirely different story. Her big brown eyes and button nose can put a pout on in Oscar-winning style. Our hands are full and we are always racking our brain with her.

But, just we think the day couldn't get any more chaotic, she uses language to bring us all some warm and fuzzies. Over a milkshake yesterday, she just looked up at me and said, "Yummy, TASTY!" How can you ever care about anything but those kind of cute moments. :)

Love you Leila
