Sometimes I forget to use my teacher education know how when I'm caught up in parenting... especially when I'm caught up trying to dodge a terrible week of tantrums left and right from each of my kids. It took a great reminder from a teacher I've never met to solve Cable Cabin mayhem. A chart for target behaviors... stickers... and a target new toy. Why do the simplest ideas slip our own minds when we're under stress?
My cousin Amy was showing me different things that occur in Samuel's classroom in Canal Winchester and I'm officially operating in elementary school teacher fashion now (minus the curriculum stuff). Gage is so much better and back to normal now that he has his John Deere Toybox and Playmat in his crosshairs. So far the 'good choice' chart is my new therapy for my own personal calm.
