The new 'tude

Leila walks with her own ideas, her own wants, and her own agenda. The norms these days-- to wear a nightgown all day long as she calls herself "the lost Princess" (as in, Rapunzel). Even to the babysitter's house, we put her nightgown back on over top of her clothes so we can actually get out the door.

To exasperate the situation of wanting to dress herself, Leila only wants to wear polka-dot dresses on days that she isn't in a nightgown. She has one polka dot dress-- that is from summer and that is too small. She threw a 45-minute fit this week as I tried to get her into the car and to the doctor's office (where another ear infection was found) because I wouldn't let her wear a summer dress that doesn't fit. Mind you, she and I had been up all night (from about 1 a.m. on) because of her ear pain. BTW, she calls her ear infection "tubes" and thinks that having "tubes" is the same as having an infection. It's so cute but so sad to listen to her wail about her ear tubes hurting her.

Luckily for me, Grandma B. has made a run to JoAnn fabrics-- for nightgowns and for polka dot dresses. Leila will be a mountain mover! It's pretty tough to turn her down. :) xoxo Leila
