Throwing Rocks

The Cable Family took a hike down the road last night in the damp, cold evening just so our kids could 'blow off some stink,' as my mom always called it. Because of all the snow and rain, the waterfall closest to our house is enormous! Our kids love to throw rocks down the ravine, into the waterfall, and watch where they may go. For Leila to get close enough to consistently hit the water, she kept putting herself in a tenuous spot. After a dozen tosses, we had to head to calmer waters. At the pond, the splooshes gave both she and Gage great satisfaction. I am starting to wonder if it will come back to bite me in the rear that our kids are so fond of throwing rocks. Gage understands the 'where he can' versus 'where he cannot'... but Leila might be harder to convince. However, she is not harder to convince to hike it back up the road. She is still a stroller-girl for the road we live on; I mean, the hills are huge for little legs. And, we are just now getting Gage to walk without throwing a tantrum about it (however, to his defense, he has always liked riding in a stroller whereas Leila has never enjoyed it so much). But, last night, yet another "don't leave out Leila" event occurred and she insisted on walking up the hill, chanting "I'm going to make it, I'm going to make it" the whole way.

And Little Leila slept all night long. :)

(Now, the lesson must be to stay out of the middle of the road)
